The Education of Night School

However difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at.

~ Stephen Hawking

Comedy is made to bring laughter into our lives. It makes us feel comfortable to address issues that are not funny within society means. It is also a way for us to learn things that we may not know anything about. The blockbuster movie, Night School, does all of that. Night school brings a comedic awareness to the struggle that people encounter with learning. It addresses how some students are not effectively learning not because they do not want to but they are not able to.

The two major factors that the movie discusses is dyslexia and dyscalculia- two main learning disorders that are a large population of the educational sector of students are effected by. Dyscalcuia is a severe difficulty in making arithmetical calculation, as a result of a brain disorder. Dyslexia is when one has difficulty reading, spelling, and writing. It causes the brain to have trouble recognizing and processing information.

Although night school was set to make us break up in laughter, it also showed how many children grow up to be adults who were denied a proper chance to excel with a learning disorder. It showed how often times, our educational system does not take the time to see if our children are in need to for special guidance to help them succeed. But out of everything that the movie projected, it showed that you can have a successful life with a learning disorder.
